Girls on the Run Program

The Girls on the Run® Program is an after school program that uses the power of running to help prepare girls for a lifetime of self respect and healthy living. Through interactive activities such as running and playing games and discussing important issues, girls learn how to celebrate being themselves. The program focuses on building self esteem and improving emotional and physical health. Lessons are designed to enhance the social, mental, spiritual, physical and emotional health of pre-teen girls. During the 24 sessions girls are empowered with a greater self awareness, a sense of achievement and a foundation in team building to help them become strong, contented and self confident young women.

The fall session of the Girls on the Run® Program starts on Monday, September 13th after school in Ms. Duncan's room (Mobile#7) for the Monday/Thursday group.

The Tuesday/Thursday group starts on Tuesday, September 14th after school and meets in front of the Media Center.

A Message From the Principal

Dear ILE Families,

We have had a great start to our school year!!  I am so proud of our students and staff members for all their hard work in making it such a smooth start.

Our first fundraiser has started. All students should have come home with an entertainment book along with an order form. You have the option to buy the book for $25.00 or return the book and opt-out. Please know the books are not FREE. Let’s start off the year with a BIG fundraiser and finish up purchasing the Smart Boards needed for the school!!

We will have our next Spirit Day for this school year on Friday, September 24.  We hold Spirit Days on the last Friday of the month.  On this day students get an out of school uniform day.  Students need to wear an ILE shirt on top and any bottoms they want as long as they are dress code length.  If you have not purchased an ILE top yet then your child can wear a dress code shirt.  Students can also pay fifty cents to wear a hat on Spirit Day.  The money raised goes to a local charity each month.  Our hat money will go for MS research for the month of September.  Thanks for supporting our hat day and letting your child enjoy a uniform free day!

Just a reminder for car drop-off in the mornings.  This school year only Kindergarten and First Grade students are to be dropped off in front of the school.  Students in Grades Two through Five and cars with students in multiple grades will drop off in the back of the school by the gym.  Students can be dropped off between 6:50-7:25.  After 7:25 students are considered tardy and the parent will have to come into the school and sign the student in.  If no adults are outside then your child is tardy.  We always have more car riders the first few weeks of school and the lines can be long in the mornings.  Please be patient.... I promise in a few days it will get better. Please do not break the rules and use the wrong car line.  It causes back ups for everyone.  Thanks!

In the afternoons all car riders are picked up in front of the school at 2:00.  You will need a yellow pick up pass in your window with your students name on it.  Yellow passes will be given out in the car line on the first few days of school.

If your child is a bus rider and you did not fill out a bus pass at Open House then the bus driver will give your child a bus pass.  If you have questions about bus stops or times please call our bus supervisor Mr. James Auton at 548-9448.

Please send in lunch money with your child.  Lunch forms have been sent home with your child.  We need every family in the school to complete a form.  We get funding for our school based on the information on these forms.  Please help us and complete the form and send it in!  Thanks in advance.  If I can be of any assistance to you please do not hesitate to ask!!

Thanks for your support!

Box Tops for Education

ATTENTION ILES FAMILIES!

Did you know that we earned over $5,000 last year by redeeming Box Tops for Education?  Please continue collecting Box Tops and sending them in.

This year we are also adding additional collections: Campbell's Soup Labels and used/empty ink cartridges, laser cartridges, toner, and old cell phones.  Our ILES Eco-Warriors will have boxes for the collection of cartridges and cell phones for your child to drop them in.  Box Tops and Soup Labels can be sent in to the teacher.  Rewards will be given each month for the top teacher in each grade level for number of Box Tops sent in.

Please help this be as successful as last year!
