A Message From the Principal
Dear Indian Land Elementary School families,
I am SO enjoying this beautiful weather we have been having recently! I hope it stays.... I am ready for warmer days, and I know our students are too! Please take your kids outside to play!
We are currently registering kindergartners for the 2010-2011 school year. Please tell all you know who have a five year old that they need to come to the school to get their child registered for next year. The more we can get registered early the better! Thanks for your help!
On Tuesday, March 9, Indian Land Middle School will be holding free parent seminars at 6:00PM on a whole range of important topics. I hope you can attend. It will be worth the time, I promise! All sessions will be at ILM.
Our Science Fair will be on Thursday, March 11, and we will have an Open House in the gym from 5:00-7:00PM to view the projects and see which ones won! I hope you can come out to see them!
On Friday, March 12, there will be no school for staff or students. This is a furlough day and no one will be at school that day. Hopefully this furlough day (means no pay for any staff) will help our school district make its budget for this school year. By the looks of things, the state will have furlough days for next school year as well. It is a tough time for education budgets in South Carolina right now. The new state budget for next school year will give us a base student cost that is the lowest since 1995. There will have to be cuts everywhere. Bear with us as we get through these tough economic times.

Kindergarten Registration "Kick-Off"

Information is provided regarding registration requirements, Kindergarten testing availability, an example of the daily schedule for Kindergarten students, and the Kindergarten Open House scheduled for April 19th.
